"When Christians get defensive and indignant about being reminded of the sins of our ancestors like slavery and the crusades, it indicates that we don’t really believe that Jesus died for those sins. There is nothing morally superior about Christians. We simply have a powerful resource in Jesus’ cross for being humble and truthful about our past and present shortcomings.
